1. Create Two Compute Clusters
Start by creating two virtual compute clusters in Yellowbrick Manager. Use any data warehouse instance that you have already created in your environment. Use your initial login credentials, which will give you the privileges to alter, create, drop, and use clusters.
- On the Dashboard (top of left-hand vertical menu after clicking the "cube" icon), make sure the instance you want to use is selected.
For example:
- Click the + Cluster, make the selections shown in this example, then click Create.
For example:
You are creating a cluster called large-default-cluster
with one large-v1
node and default policy settings. This cluster will automatically suspend with an idle timeout of 5 minutes, and it will automatically resume when a query or other operation tries to use it.
Note: If there is no Default cluster checkbox under Policy, that means that a default cluster has already been created for this instance. If the Default cluster checkbox is visible on your system, you can select it.
The cluster will take a few minutes to create. Do not close the Create Cluster window while you are waiting for the process to complete.
- When the first cluster is created, create a second one, but this time select two
small-v1
nodes.
For example:
- When the second one is created, go to the Clusters tab and inspect the clusters you created.
For example:
Note that one or both may be suspended, due to idle timeout.
